FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Shootings at a sporting event and concert in Paris last year, plus a nightclub in Orlando this year, has those in charge of a local concert and sports venue looking into getting their own metal detectors.
The board of directors for the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne is looking into buying their own detectors, rather than renting them as they’ve been doing for a while now.
The Journal Gazette reports doing so would help get some of the bigger names in entertainment to book events in Fort Wayne, as many of them have started making such devices mandatory.
The Board is asking the Allen County Council for $50,000 to make the purchase, with the hopes of installing them by the end of the year.
