GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOWO): Meijer says it will hundreds of workers as it prepares for the holiday season.

The retailer says it will hire a number of grocery positions, including stockers, cashiers and specialty positions in the bakery and meat department

A total of 1,800 jobs are projected for Indiana, with a total of 10,000 in the midwest.

Most of the jobs are part-time or seasonal, but the company says some will be full-time and others could lead to career positions.

Meijer operates stores in Fort Wayne, Warsaw, Angola and Elkhart. No word how Meijer locations in nearby Lima and Defiance, Ohio are impacted.
