Mayor Henry Proclaims “DaMarcus Beasley Day”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Mayor Tom Henry has officially proclaimed today as “DaMarcus Beasley Day” in Fort Wayne.

Beasley visited the Mayor’s office Friday morning  to receive the proclamation and recognition in honor of his soccer accomplishments and commitment to Fort Wayne.

Mayor Henry’s proclamation to DaMarcus Beasley:
Whereas – In the 2014 FIFA World Cup against Ghana, DaMarcus Beasley became the first American to play in four World Cups and the third person to be on four World Cup rosters

Whereas – DaMarcus ranks among career leaders in all-time appearances, goals, and assists as part of the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team

Whereas – DaMarcus represents our country with dignity and professionalism as an elite athlete

 

Whereas – DaMarcus is a Fort Wayne native with a strong commitment to our community

Whereas – DaMarcus dedicates himself to helping young people in our City learn soccer skills and the importance of good sportsmanship

Now, therefore, I, Thomas C. Henry, Mayor of the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana, do hereby proclaim July 18, 2014, as DaMarcus Beasley Day in Fort Wayne, encouraging all citizens to duly note this occasion.
