Mayor Henry and Dr. Robinson Heading to Mayors in Education Convening

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Mayor Tom Henry and FWCS Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson are attending the “Mayors in Education Convening” this Thursday and Friday in Washington, D.C. The event is co-hosted by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and will include topics about education initiatives, school finance, and driving economic development through education reform.

In a release sent by the Mayor’s office, Mayor Tom Henry said,

“This is an opportunity for us to learn about best practices in education, as well as share our local success stories with a national group of education experts. Education is a priority in the City of Fort Wayne. We know that job growth in cities is directly tied to an educated workforce. I appreciate the work that Dr. Robinson and FWCS are doing to help us invest in our future.”

Dr. Wendy Robinson said,

“FWCS has maintained a strong relationship with the City of Fort Wayne because we share a vision of continuously improving the quality of life for all citizens of the city. Attending this conference together builds on this strong foundation.”
