Mayor Challenges Community to Fitness

weighs in for the Fitter Fort Challenge

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): As Mayor Tom Henry challenged the community to become fitter, he stepped on the scales to publicly show his own commitment to the initiative. 

Last month, Mayor Henry kicked off Operation F4 – Fight for a Fitter Fort. It's a effort to people in Fort Wayne to lose a combined 500,000  pounds over the next two years.

At the University of St. Francis' Development Day Tuesday, he hit the scales, the Mayor, pledged to drop 15 pounds and run in the annual Fort4Fitness run next September. By the way, his weight: 203 pounds. He wants to get to 188.

Organizers say about 600 people have accepted the challenge.
