FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) _ The Indiana Masonic Home wants its baby Jesus back.
The statue was stolen over the weekend from the Franklin retirement facility's Nativity scene. The Daily Journal reports it's the first time in the display's 11-year history that one of the figures has gone missing.
Indiana Masonic Home interim director Ed Fodrea says the baby Jesus is an easy target because the figure weighs just 20 to 25 pounds and is about 2 feet long. The other four statues in the display weigh about 80 pounds each and aren't as portable.
Fodrea says he hopes the thieves return the statue, which cost $475 when it was purchased in 2003. He says replacing it could cost nearly $1,000 today.
