Marion teen dies when car abruptly backs up, pinning her

MARION, Ind. (AP): Marion police say a teenager died when a car abruptly backed up, pinning her against a second vehicle, and then fled the scene.

Police found 16-year-old Reamey Bell of Sweetser unresponsive shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thursday outside a Marion house where she had been staying.

A witness, 44-year-old Teresa Wilkerson of Marion, told police she saw a female run to the back of a car parked in the driveway of the house. As Wilkerson drove past the driveway, the other car abruptly backed out and pinned the girl between the two vehicles. The impact of the collision caused Wilkerson’s vehicle to spin about 180 degrees, and the other car drove away.

Police have a description of the vehicle.
