FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The deadline to register to vote has passed. Now, Hoosiers are voting early.
Early voting in the state of Indiana started on Wednesday, Oct. 12. Secretary of State of Indiana Connie Lawson is stopping by different counties to talk about early voting
She was at the Allen County Election Board on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s just great to get out and see, you know, that things are working well and people are excited about the election,” Lawson said.
She said people vote early because people are concerned about long lines.
“The last two days before the voter registration deadline, almost 90,000 people registered in those last two days. So, the excitement is there. People want to participate and that is what our democratic process is all about.”
