Man Who Tried to Fake Own Death Released from Prison

MADISON, Ind. (AP) – A man who authorities say tried to fake his own death by jumping from a Kentucky bridge has been released from an Indiana prison.

The Madison Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1cwUTBT ) 43-year-old Wade R. Meisberger was released Monday from the Indiana Department of Corrections following a sentencing modification.

He will remain on probation until August 2027.

In June 2012, officers responding to reports of a man jumping off a Prestonville, Kentucky, bridge found a note and Meisberger's driver's license at the scene.

Meisberger later posted several videos to YouTube about being alive and hiding from authorities. He was arrested in July 2012 at a Madison, Indiana, mobile home park.

Meisberger had been released early from an Indiana prison in 2007 for the 1991 killing of a childhood friend when he was 19.
