Man Trapped in Vehicle for 2 Hours after Crash

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The driver of a semi that rolled over into a median on I-69 was trapped inside the vehicle for two hours before help could get him out.

51-year-old Ronald Carriveau of Baltimore Michigan, was driving north on I-69 near mile maker 354 around 10:40 p.m. last night. That’s when he went into a median for an unknown reason. The semi hit a cable barrier before rolling over.

Once emergency crews arrived on the scene, it took two hours before rescuers were able to free him from the vehicle.  Samaritan transported Carriveau to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Carriveau was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Steuben County Humane Shelter also responded to the scene to secure a dog that was also in the vehicle.  The dog appeared to be uninjured.
