Man Shot On Fort Wayne’s West Side

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A late night shooting on Fort Wayne's west side claimed the life of a man.

Crime scene investigators are looking for clues into the shooting death of a man around the 2100 block of Eby Avenue. Police arrived around 10:22 p.m. Monday night and found a man parked in the middle of the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics tried to help the victim and transported him to the hospital in critical condition, but he was pronounced dead just a short time after arriving.

The name of the victim has not been released, and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police. If confirmed by the Allen County Coroner, this could be Allen County's 11th homicide of the year.

Police tell The Journal Gazette that investigators found shell casings from more than one gun along the street and witnesses said vehicles left the area after the shooting.
