INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Indianapolis police say a man was fatally shot during a struggle with a police officer after a foot pursuit, and two officers were injured during the incident on the city's east side.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Chris Wilburn says an officer pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop shortly after 3 p.m Monday.

Sunday and a man fled on foot. Wilburn says the officer caught up with the armed man after a short pursuit.

Wilburn says the man tried to grab an officer's gun and shots were fired.

He says an investigation is ongoing, including into whether the suspect drew his weapon.
