Man rescued from northeast Fort Wayne house fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne firefighters rescued a man from an overnight fire on the city’s northeast side.

The Department says a man woke up a few minutes before 1am today to smoke in his home thanks to a fire in the front room. He retreated to a bathroom and called for help, and crews found him hanging out his bathroom window when they arrived.

Firefighters were able to get him to safety, and brought the blaze under control about 10 minutes later.

It did moderate damage. Nobody was hurt.
