Man Receives 6 Months for Bank Fraud

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): A third person has plead guilty to a bank fraud case in federal court.

According to the Journal Gazette, Marcel Banks was sentenced to six months in federal prison after being charged in an $87,000 bank fraud case. He was also ordered to pay back more than $86,000 in restitution.

Deandre Banks also plead guilty. She was already sentenced to prison and ordered to pay restitution

Sentenced in mid-October will be Courtney Crusoe, who also plead guilty to bank fraud. He worked as a personal banker and secretly added both Marcel and Deandre Banks to the accounts of Wells Fargo Customers, so they would have access. Court documents say this is how they were able to embezzle $87,000 and deposit the money into a Chase Bank account, that was owned by Deandre Banks.

The money was withdrawn from the Chase account and later transferred into another account, owned by Marcel Banks.
