Man Pleads Guilty to Murder in SW Indiana Attack

BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (AP) – A man has pleaded guilty to charges he fatally shot a man outside a rural southwestern Indiana home and then raping a woman inside the house.

Jason Lee Caldwell of Solsberry has been jailed since he was arrested at an Indianapolis motel in July, two days after authorities say he waited in the driveway of 54-year-old David Lamm's Greene County home and shot him when he arrived.

Officials say a woman who was found naked and bound with rope and duct tape told police Caldwell raped her at gunpoint after the shooting about 15 miles west of Bloomington.

The Greene County Daily World and The Herald-Times report Caldwell pleaded guilty last week to murder and rape charges. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 16.
