FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing a Fort Wayne woman back in 2012.
The Journal Gazette reports Moises T. Martinez, 41, pleaded guilty for the shooting death of Emily Householder, 39, back on May 29, 2012 in the 1800 block of Sinclair Street.
Court documents say the shooting was a drug deal gone bad. A witness told police the shooting was an accident. However, Martinez was charged with murder last year.
He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter, dropping the murder charge as part of a plea agreement.
Martinez is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison next month.

Another plea agreement? Does anyone from WOWO know what percentage of cases involving violent crimes (murder, rape, etc) the Allen County prosecutor office takes that actually go to court compared to cases that plea deals are made? I’m sure this would be of interest to your listeners/viewers.
