Man Killed in Weekend Shooting Behind Bar, Identified

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The man killed in a Sunday morning shooting behind the Broadway Grill has been identified.


According to the Allen County Coroner, 44-year-old Benjamin Hunter of Fort Wayne, died from gunshot wounds.


The shots were fired shortly after 3:15 a.m., Sunday. Once police and EMS crews arrived, they found Hunter lying on the ground outside of the building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.


Witnesses say they heard yelling prior to the shooting.

The manner of death has been ruled as a homicide. He is the 13th homicide victim for Fort Wayne and Allen County in 2014. Meanwhile, the shooting remains under investigation.
