FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man involved in a robbery attempt that left a woman partially blind will spend the next 16 years in prison.

25-year-old Christopher Moore pleaded guilty earlier this month to the July 25th, 2017 robbery in which he ran up to a woman’s car and shot her in the face and arm, in the parking lot of the Burger King on East Jefferson Blvd.

Dramatic surveillance video released by police showed Moore being dragged by the woman’s car as she tried to get away. He fell off at a nearby intersection.

The woman was left partially blind in one eye, according to the Journal Gazette.

Moore’s plea deal saw prosecutors drop charges of criminal recklessness and aggravated battery. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison with four years suspended, and will have to serve 2 years on probation when he gets out of prison.

He shot her twice. Could have caused death. Why was he given a deal by the prosecutor????? Her record of plea bargaining because she can’t get a particular sentence to stick infuriates me.

Totally agree JudyB! Left partially blinded for life. This was through no fault of her own. And he gets a deal? There was video. There were witnesses. There was forensic evidence. He gets a deal? Are the Prosecutors practicing their own twisted version of “Sanctuary Status”?
