Man in Custody after Shooting at Police Officer

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities have a man in custody after he allegedly fired at a police officer during a domestic disturbance. 33-year-old Daniel Spells of Fort Wayne is charged with attempted murder for the incident on South Harrison. According to the Journal Gazette, it happened around 9:30 Friday, when police asked the man for identification. That’s when he removed a firearm and began shooting. The officer immediately tackled the suspect.  Authorities say no one was hurt, but at least one bullet hit the hood of a passing car.  Spells reportedly has a criminal history that includes drug violations, battery and weapons charges.
