Man found shot to death inside car, identity released

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that happened near Foster Park last night.

Officers were called to the 4500 block of South Wayne Avenue just before 7:45 p.m. on multiple reports of shots fired in that area. They found the victim sitting in the driver’s seat of a car, that was still running, parked on the east side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Wayne Avenue was closed to traffic between Pasadena Drive and West Sherwood Terrace while police processed the scene.

The victim was later identified as Aristotle J. King, 43 of Fort Wayne. The Allen County Coroner’s Office later released a statement, revealing King’s cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds. His manner of death was ruled a homicide.

King is the 37th homicide victim in Allen County for 2018.
