Man Attempts to Obtain Deceased Father’s Prescription

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A man attempted to impersonate his deceased father in order to obtain the man’s prescription.

The Journal Gazette reports 29-year-old Joshua Gambrel was charged on Friday with impersonating his dead father, Mark Brockhouse, while on the phone with a Kroger pharmacy in Fort Wayne.

A pharmacist called police last Monday because he knew Brockhouse had passed away, according to an affidavit.

When he arrived at the pharmacy, Gambrel continued to identify himself as Brockhouse, saying he was going to send his son to get the prescription.

Gambrel was eventually released on his own recognizance, according to the Journal Gazette.

Gambrel later told police he wasn’t sure if Medicaid was aware of his father’s death, and the prescription had already been paid for.
