Man Arrested for Attacking Pregnant Step-Daughter and Wife

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is arrested for attacking his seven months pregnant step-daughter and for strangling his wife.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, Jeffery Grabner has been arrested on several battery-related charges.

Grabner's wife has a no contact order in place that was served in October. However, Grabner's step-daughter told police that on Friday, November 8th, around 9:30 p.m., Grabner came to the apartment where she and her mother were living. That’s when he and his wife got into a fight. He became enraged when she said she had plans to go out for her birthday. Grabner then grabbed her by the neck and started to strangle her.

The step-daughter stepped in; a scuffle broke out sending her down a flight of stairs. She said Grabner came down the stairs, hit her in the face three to four times, kicked her in the abdomen two times and then kicked her once in the back.

Grabner left the scene, but was found a few days later when police were called to a report of a disturbance on November 13th. He was brought in by police and arrested on the following charges:

Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Pregnant Woman, class C felony

Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury (within the presence of a child less than 16 years old), a class D felony

Strangulation, a class D felony
