Man Arrested after Armed Robbery on Southeast Side of Town

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man was arrested early Sunday morning, after an armed robbery on the southeast side of town.

 

Police say they received a call about a about an armed robbery in the 3700 block of Maywood Avenue. The victim told investigators that he had been sitting in a car with a friend when an unknown black man, later identified as 22-year-old Darrell Fourte, approached and began yelling. 

 

The victim stated that Fourte then pulled out a gun and ordered him to the ground.  The victim stated that once on the ground, the perpetrator searched him and took his wallet and cell phone. 

 

A witness later led police to an apartment in the 3300 block of Diplomat Drive.  Fourte was inside along with the stolen property.  He was arrested for Armed Robbery, a Level 3 Felony.  No one was injured in the incident.
