Man who allegedly shot Indiana officer’s home faces hearing

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A man who allegedly fired shots into an Indianapolis police officer’s home as his wife and child slept inside is set to appear before a judge for an initial hearing.

No charges had been filed as of Thursday morning against the 27-year-old man, who’s being held without bond ahead of an afternoon hearing.

The man was recently released from prison on probation after serving five years for unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious felon.

Police say the man shouted anti-police obscenities early Tuesday and fired several shots into the home and patrol car of an officer who once arrested him on a weapons charge.

The officer was awake inside after working a night shift, while his wife and child were sleeping.

No one was injured in the shooting.
