Madison Man Gets 4-Year Sentence in Stabbing

MADISON, Ind. (AP) _ A southern Indiana man who admitted stabbing his then-estranged wife's boyfriend has been sentenced to four years in prison.

The Madison Courier reports 32-year-old Dale Lisby of Madison pleaded guilty in January to battery resulting in serious bodily injury in last year's attack.

He was arrested in July 2013 after he stabbed the man five times at a motel. The victim was airlifted to a Louisville, Kentucky hospital for treatment.

Lisby and his wife have since divorced.

He testified during Wednesday's hearing that he got into an argument with his then-estranged wife at the motel after she described her intimate relationship with her boyfriend, who was present. Lisby then stabbed that man several times.

He told the court he has a history of depression and hallucinations.
