Madison County Police Bust What They’re Calling “Largest Heroin Distribution”

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Madison County authorities have busted what they're calling the county's largest heroin distribution and sales network.

Anderson Police Spokesman Det. Joel Sandefur says eight people are in custody.

They're all believed to be major heroin suppliers in Madison County. Sandefur says the arrests follow a six-month probe that traced the heroin ring from New York to Castleton near Indianapolis to Anderson. He says it came to a head Wednesday night when authorities executed a search warrant at an apartment in Castleton. They confiscated $100,000 in cash along with three pounds of heroin and a half-kilo of cocaine with a combined street value estimated at $250,000.

Sandefur says more arrests are possible.

Arrests include:

36-year-old Shaunette Yvonne Brooks of Indianapolis

42-year-old Jerome Dixon of Indianapolis

25-year-old Jessica Rose Inholt of Anderson

41-year-old Brian Deweese of Anderson

22-year-old Jayme Michelle Dollens of Pendleton

64-year-old Bobby Wayne Moore of Anderson

38-year-old Jon Robert Niccum of Anderson

44-year-old James Alexis Dixon of New York

All are charged with dealing and manufacturing drugs. They're being held on anywhere from $25,000 to $1 million bond.
