FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): More children getting treated at hospitals and their families will receive help thanks to a $225,000 donation.

Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation raised $225,000 during the Red Coat Dinner and Charity Gold Classic for children on June 10 and 11. The money was given to the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House, according to the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation.

The Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House provides families with children undergoing pediatric and neonatal treatment with lodging and support.

“The Hope House is a vital refuge and resource for many families in a great time of need,” President of the Mad Anthonys board of directors Jim Kelley said.

In the past nine years, the Children’s Foundation donated about $2 million to the Hope House.

“We are dedicated to providing families with a welcoming, family-centered and home-like environment, and the support and generosity of the Mad Anthonys Children’s Foundation has helped us enhance and expand our mission for almost a decade,” Executive Director of the Hope House Andrew Gritzmaker said.

The check was presented Wednesday morning at the Children’s Hope House on the campus of Lutheran Hospital.
