LureCraft Fisherman’s Shop Expands in Orland, New Jobs on the Way

ORLAND Ind. (WOWO): A fishing lure company that's been in business for nearly half a century is expanding their operations in the Hoosier state.

LureCraft Fisherman's Shop Inc. started in Indiana 48 years ago. On Wednesday, they announced investing $408,000 to renovate a 22,000 square foot facility in Orland. The space will create 91 new jobs with the company by 2017.

The new location will be open by December and allow the company to ship their hand-crafted fishing lures around the world.

LureCraft is already hiring for manufacturing jobs and plans to hire additional managers and assembly workers. Anyone interested in applying can go to the company's current facility in LaGrange, or online at indianacareerconnect.com.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered LureCraft up to $350,000 in performance-based tax credits and another $100,000 in training grants based on the company's job creation plans.

Indiana is said to have the highest concentration of private sector manufacturing jobs in the nation.
