Lowe’s Announces Customer Service Center in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Lowe‘s is opening a $20 million Customer Support Center that will create up to one-thousand jobs on Indy‘s Northwest side.

Lowe‘s Vice President Don Easterling says they bought and will renovate the 140,000 square foot office building in Intech Park on the west side of I-465. The center will focus on internet sales and delivery and repair services.

Easterling says the company chose Indianapolis because of its highly-skilled workforce, work ethic and willingness to help others.

He says that‘s something “you can‘t really teach.” The state offered North Carolina-based Lowe‘s $5.5 million in conditional tax credits to help make the project happen. Easterling says the center will be up and running early next year.

Officials say as many as one thousand jobs could be added by 2016.
