FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A longtime educator is being remembered today.
Fred Tone was an icon for Bishop Dwenger High School in Fort Wayne, spending more than forty years with the school as everything from a coach for football and wrestling to principal before his retirement in 2010… the school released a statement last night saying Tone had died earlier this week at the age of 70 after a battle with cancer. The school's athletic director, John Bennett, tells the Journal Gazette Tone influenced a lot of people into getting into either coaching or teaching, and he'll be sorely missed.”
Tone also played a part in bringing about a number of school upgrades over the years.
