Long time local pharmacist passes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A long time Fort Wayne businessman has passed away.

Maurice Keltsch, 89, died on Monday, August 22nd in Fort Wayne. The World War II Navy veteran was owner, president and pharmacist of Keltsch Pharmacy for 43 years. He retired in 1993.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 27th at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church starting at 10:30 a.m. Calling is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday August 26th at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home on Covington Road.

Keltsch served on the board of directors at Lutheran Hospital from 1970 to 1982, as well as the American Red Cross, Lutheran Home, American Heart Association, YWCA Board of trustees, Arts United Board, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.

In 2004, Keltsch earned a Sagamore of the Wabash Award.
