NEW WAVERLY, Ind. (WOWO): Wednesday morning at 9:37 a.m., Indiana State Police and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department got a call to a single vehicle crash on Cass County Road 950 East near Church Road, in which a Logansport woman died.
According to police, 61-year-old Mara Petty was driving southbound on County Road 950 East, in New Waverly, when for an unknown reason, she drove over a set of railroad tracks and into a ditch. The car then rolled onto its top.
Petty was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cass County Coroner. It’s believed she had a medical issue prior to the crash. However, it is currently still under investigation, but at this time alcohol and narcotics are not suspected as having contributed to this crash.
