Local Teacher Wins NACS Teach of the Year

Andy Deatrick, a Carroll High School science teacher, has been awarded Northwest Allen County Schools Teacher of the Year for 2012.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, Deatrick has been a teacher for 20 years, and has been at Carroll since 2008.

He’s known for his unique style of teaching, where he uses technology not only inside the classroom, but also outside the classroom; he posts several of his lectures on Facebook allowing him more one-on-one time with students.
