FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): You’re invited to a baby shower with a little more fur and purs than most.
Spring is known as “kitten season” at the Allen County SPCA, so the non-profit is hosting a kitten shower from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at 4914 S. Hanna Street in Fort Wayne.
The SPCA is trying to save hundreds of kittens and they hope this event tells the community about their efforts.
“Each year, we welcome dozens of pregnant cats and orphaned kittens into our program,” Jessica Henry, Allen County SPCA Executive Director. “But kittens are very fragile, and the expenses invested in each litter are significant.”
Cash donations, cat toys, Science Diet canned kitten food pate, Gerber turkey and gravy baby food, Gerber chicken and gravy baby food, baby rice cereal, kitten bottle kits and kitten meal replacement (powder or liquid) are all on the gift registry.
Guests can expect typical baby shower events, such as: games, prizes, cake, punch and shelter tours.
Kittens will be available to visit or adopt.
