Life Sentence Ordered in 2 Suburban Indianapolis Deaths

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP): A man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing a woman and her adult daughter inside a suburban Indianapolis home.

A Hamilton County judge ordered the sentence Friday for Christian Haley of Indianapolis in the December 2013 attack on 52-year-old Marylyn Erb and 23-year-old Kelley Erb. Haley pleaded guilty in February to two counts of murder.

Authorities say Haley was angry that Todd Erb — Marylyn's husband and Kelley's father — had fired him months earlier from a landscaping business.

Judge Steven Nation rejected defense arguments that Haley suffered from major depression and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. National called the attack cold-blooded and without any justifiable reason.
