Leesburg Truck Driver Pleads Not Guilty to Charges Relating to Fatal Crash

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A semi-truck driver from Leesburg has pleaded not guilty to charges relating to an Illinois crash that claimed five lives.

Francisco Quiroz is accused of falsifying logbooks and failure to maintain proper records. Prosecutors have met with Illinois State Police to determine if the charges against the 51-year-old should include reckless homicide.

Authorities say Quiroz was driving at least 15 mph above the posted construction zone speed limit at the time of the crash. He has been held on a $1 million bond since the accident, last month, on I-55.
