Leaders of Fort Wayne and Grand Chute Issue Friendly Tin Caps Challenge

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry and Grand Chute, Wis., Town Chairman David Schowalter have agreed to a friendly challenge in advance of tonight’s Game 1 of the Midwest League Championship Series between the Fort Wayne TinCaps and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

If the TinCaps win the championship series, Town Chairman Schowalter will send a basket of Merkts cheese to the City of Fort Wayne. In addition, Chairman Schowalter will wear a TinCaps jersey for a day.

If the Timber Rattlers are victorious in the championship series, Mayor Henry will send a basket of DeBrand Fine Chocolates to the town of Grand Chute. In addition, Mayor Henry will wear a Timber Rattlers jersey for a day.

“We are so excited to have the TinCaps back in the championship series. We wish them the best, and we look forward to a big crowd at Parkview Field on Saturday night for Game 3,” said Mayor Henry.

“The town of Grand Chute is pleased to be part of this effort and are excited that our Timber Rattlers are vying for a Midwest League Championship. This is a great way to highlight the unique aspects of Grand Chute and Fort Wayne,” said Town Chairman Schowalter.
