Larry Bird Memorabilia Auction Scheduled

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — More than 600 items from a collection of Larry Bird basketball memorabilia are going up for sale in an online auction.

The collection includes Boston Celtics jerseys that Bird wore during games that are signed by Bird and fellow Celtics stars Kevin McHale and Robert Parrish. The Indianapolis Star reports other items include NBA championship game balls from 1981, 1984 and 1986 that are signed by the entire Celtics team, original Boston Garden flooring, chairs and plaques.

Collection owner Randy Switser of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is selling the items in three lots on eBay over 10 days starting Saturday.

Bird grew up in the southern Indiana town of French Lick and is now the Indiana Pacers' president of basketball operations.
