INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Dozens of firefighters worked through the night to put out a large fire that destroyed a vacant warehouse in Indianapolis.
The fire burned Sunday night through the roof of the two-story brick building that covered about the size of a city block a couple miles southeast of the city's downtown.
Fire Lt. Larry Tracy says one firefighter was taken to a hospital with possible heat exhaustion, but no other injuries were reported.
Those living in about a dozen nearby homes were evacuated for a time as flying embers started a fire in a nearby field. The fire was brought under control early Monday, but several firefighters continued putting out hot spots more than eight hours after the blaze broke out.
