“Large Cat” Spotted in Paulding County, Ohio

PAULDING COUNTY, Ohio. (WOWO): Tuesday afternoon, officers with the Paulding County Sheriff's Department received what they're calling “credible information” about a large cat in Brown Township.

</span>It has been spotted north of the intersection of Road 151 and Road 108. Officers say they also received reports that a resident nearby this location could hear what he believed to be a cat crying. However, the resident stated that it didn't sound like a “normal cat.”

The animal was described as 40-50 pounds, approximately knee high, a long body and the color of a bale of straw. The description could be that of a bobcat or mountain lion. We have not received any information any reports of livestock being killed or property damage. However, residents might pay attention while outside, especially when small children are playing outdoors,” said Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers.

The local Game Warden has been notified and is involved with the investigation. However in the meantime, Sheriff Landers is asking that if you see the animal described above, do not take action yourself and instead call the Paulding County Sheriff's Department at 419-399-3791.
