LaPorte County Burglary Ring, Busted

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A LaPorte County burglary ring has been shut down after months of police work.

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan City police say that the case is closed after a number of burglaries this fall. Officials say they caught a break in the case when they used the GPS off of a stolen iPad to track down a suspect.

Stolen items ranged from flat screens to jewelry–all taken from numerous homes. In one case the thieves managed to steal an 80in TV.

Earlier this week, after warnings from police, neighbors noticed empty homes being targeted and called 9-1-1.
