Labor Day Precautions from Health Department

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Can you hear the clock ticking? Labor Day weekend is almost here! And while you're enjoying that extra day off, the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health wants to make sure you're doing so safely. They say that while we've had dry weather lately, mosquitoes are still out, and in 59 Indiana counties, including Allen County, they've tested positive for the West Nile virus. Make sure you're wearing repellent while you're outdoors and get rid of standing water. Additionally, drowning is the second leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 19. Parents should not only supervise children around water but also know how to perform CPR. The department has more health and safety tips online at www.allencountyhealth.com.
