KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): On Wednesday, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department gathered outside of the justice building to remember a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Deputy who passed away five years ago. Jeff Shaw died as the result of a tragic car accident on S.R. 14 near county road 100 E.

During the gathering, Sherrif Goshert spoke about what kind of man Shaw was. “He was also a son, a husband, a father and he had a lot of great friends. On that day, he made the ultimate sacrifice for us. He was a young man that was very good, he was a good friend for all of us and he was someone who was deeply appreciated.”

Shaw's wife also spoke, talking about the good times with her husband and thanking friends and family for their support.
