Kosciusko County Officials Investigate 18-Year-Old’s Death

Kosciusko County officials are investigating the death of an 18-year-old male discovered today by his mom, at their home.

Police responded this afternoon to the home on East Excalibur Place, Cromwell, in regards to a male subject found unconscious by his mother.  Emergency responders arrived and attempted to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Shawn Leins. Leins’ mother had gone to wakeup her son today and discovered him unconscious and not breathing. 

The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department are currently investigating the incident but are awaiting completed toxicology results along with the findings of a Fort Wayne autopsy before making a determination as to the cause of death.
