Kosciusko County Crash Leaves Two Hospitalized

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A vehicle crash in Kosciusko County has left two people injured. It happened around 5:00 P.M. Tuesday when officials were called to a single-vehicle crash on County Road 150 W, just south of CR 400 N. Officers found a vehicle that had been severely damaged after apparently hitting a wooden fence and a tree. The driver, 29-year-old Michael Thomas, of Warsaw, was found pinned inside suffering from a severe head injury. He was extricated and airlifted to Parkview Hospital in critical condition. A passenger, 20-year-old Joseph Haupert, of Claypool, was taken to Lutheran Hospital in serious condition with head injuries. According to Kosciusko County officials, initial investigations showed Thomas’s vehicle was going north when, for an unknown reason, it went east of the road, hitting a fence and several wooden posts and eventually hitting a tree. Witnesses told officers that the vehicle looked to be traveling fast before losing control. The crash remains under investigation.
