FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Komets look to get back on the winning track during a busy holiday weekend that starts Thursday.

After losses last Friday to Cincinnati and Saturday to Toledo, the Komets enter week 7 of the ECHL 2018-19 season at 5-8-0 for 10 points. They’ll hold three games in three nights this week, starting with the Bob Chase Memorial Thanksgiving game as the Ks host the Brampton Beast at 7:30pm at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. Brampton is coached by Komet Hall of Famer Colin Chaulk.

The game is also noteworthy for being the first big public fundraiser for WOWO’s annual Penny Pitch effort. This year the team is also selling a special Bob Chase Memorial bobblehead, with proceeds going to Penny Pitch. It’ll be Fort Wayne’s 58th home Thanksgiving Game.

On Friday, the Komets will visit Kalamazoo to take on the Wings at 7:30pm. The Komets are 1-2-0 against the Wings after three meetings. Kalamazoo is in last place in the Central division with a 4-7-1 record and nine points.

Then on Saturday, the Komets return home to Fort Wayne to host the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:30pm. The Cyclones entered the week with a three-game winning streak and at 10-3-2 on the season for 22 points, trailing first-place Toledo by a point.

You can hear Komets hockey all season long on WOWO.
