Komets Ink Two-Year Deal With WOWO

All games aired to be heard on 1190 AM and 92.3 FM

Fort Wayne, IN —  The Komets announced Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Fort Wayne legendary radio station WOWO for a two-year deal.  All Komet hockey games broadcast will be simulcast on WOWO Radio outlets AM 1190 and FM 92.3.

“We are looking forward to working with one of the finest teams in all of minor league sports for their 61st anniversary season, ” said WOWO’s market manager Jim Allgeier.

“The Komets are happy to be back with WOWO Radio AM and FM as we start play in the ECHL,” said Komet president Michael Franke.  “For decades WOWO Radio and the Komets have been very important parts of our community.”

As announced earlier this summer, Bob Chase will return to radio-rinkside for his 60th anniversary season broadcasting Komet hockey games.

All 76 Fort Wayne regular season games are planned to be aired including trips during the season to Orlando, when the Komets face the ECHL expansion Solar Bears in a three-game visit to Florida, and when the Komets renew their rivalry with the Colorado Eagles in February.  

The 2012-13 broadcast schedule begins when the Komets open their inaugural ECHL season on Coliseum ice against the Kalamazoo Wings Friday, Oct. 12 at 8pm.   

All games broadcast on WOWO will also be webcast worldwide online at www.Komets.com at Xfinity KometCast.

IceMen to visit for preseason tuneups– The Komets have scheduled a pair of exhibition home games against the Evansville IceMen at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The Komets will face the IceMen Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7:30pm and again Sunday, Oct. 7 at 5pm.  Exhibition games will not be broadcast on WOWO radio.
