Kendallville Mini-Shops Prepare for Grand Opening

KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (WOWO): Some of Noble County’s newest businesses are located in a mini mall.

“The Mini Shops” are stationed at 134 S. Main Street in Kendallville and include a number of small shops that are combined together in one building.

According to a press release, the idea came from Brenda Owens and John Hodel of Garrett, who run Patriot Memories and sell military hats, knives, and other memorabilia.

The building is known as the former “Best Little Hair House.” Kirsty’s Designs (custom sewing and alterations), Sweet Indulgencies (baked goods), Anita Lotta Dips (dips made by Anita), Just 4 You (crafts); and John’s Corner (knives, hunting), are among the businesses that have already moved in.

Space is still available in the Mini Shops, open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Although the grand opening is on December 19th, the stores are now open for customers and new businesses.

Themed vending events are scheduled on Saturdays throughout the month of December:

Dec 6th: Direct sales/party planning sellers
Dec 13th: Crafts/Homemade items
Dec. 20th: Mancave/NASCAR/sporting items
December 27th: Garage/flea market
On Dec. 13th The Mini Shops will host a book signing local author Mark R. Hunter, who has written two novels set in northeast Indiana, as well as a young adult book and a history of the Albion Fire Department. Hunter plans to be there from opening at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
