Jim Irsay Not Allowed to Drive for One Year

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Jim Irsay isn't allowed to drive for the next year because of his refusal to submit to a blood test after Carmel police pulled over his car in March.

A Hamilton County Judge issued an order last week suspending the driver’s license of the Colts owner for one year. The suspension is mandatory under state law for refusal of the blood test.

The 54-year-old was stopped while driving slowly near Horseferry Road and Main Street in Carmel on March 16th. Police were later able to draw blood after getting a warrant.

A police report says officers found several bottles containing prescription drugs inside Irsay’s car, as well as more than $29,000 in cash. However, he is only charged with two counts of impaired driving, which is a misdemeanor. Irsay’s initial court hearing is scheduled for June 19th.
