Jewelry Store Robber Sentenced

Fort Wayne (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a jewelry store robbery last summer. Twenty-year-old Theron Smith had another five years suspended. Under the plea agreement, Smith had charges of battery and criminal recklessness dropped. Smith and a another man knocked off Do’s Jewelry on East State and injured the owner in a scuffle. According to the Journal-Gazette, Smith’s attorney said her client apologized to the victims and wrote a letter to judge to express his shame for the crime.
